The following article was posted on the blog of Dr. Kerry Reeves & New Vision Ministries in Haiti. New Vision is a close partner of Operation HOPE and they are the ministry that we assist when traveling to Haiti.
2020 14th Annual Banquet Canceled
Dear friends and supporters of Operation HOPE: Our board has voted to cancel this year's banquet, due to prescribed attendance limitations. But we are pleased to announce that Ken Harrison, Chairman and CEO of Promise Keepers has agreed to speak at our upcoming banquet on March 27, 2021. Tickets will go on sale in January of 2021. Thank you for your generous support as we continue our commitments to Hope2Haiti and SnackPack4Kids in West Texas. May God bless and protect us all as we await His return.
Operation HOPE recently received a request from our dear friends New Vision Ministries in Haiti to help find two teachers who would be willing to teach at a YWAM English school in Saint Marc for the 2011-2012 school year.
YWAM has been in Saint Marc for 15 years and has been such an asset to that community and the entire nation. The school is primarily focused on educating missionary children (such as the Reeves' children) as well as providing a Bible-Based English education for Haitian children to equip them to reach out to their own people.
Operation HOPE's 5th Annual F.A.M.I.N.E. Banquet was held on July 9th at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center with more than 550 guests in attendance. After months of preparation by such an incredible group of volunteers, we are happy to say that this was certainly our biggest and most successful event to date. Thanks to the generous donations from businesses and individuals from across the Lubbock area, we were able to auction off a incredible collection of art, services, and products all to help the work we are currently doing in Haiti and Iraq.
New Vision Ministries, with the help and guidance of Operation HOPE, is doing alot to improve the lives of those living in Montrouis, Haiti. One of the many initiatives taken on by Dr. Kerry is the creation and development of a fishing ministry. We've mentioned the fishing ministry in previous posts, but I would like to go into more detail about it.
A couple of months ago, I posted an article on operationhopeusa.org asking for educators who would be willing to travel to Haiti and volunteer for the entire 2011-2012 school year. There was a YWAM school in the town of Saint Marc that was at risk of shutting down due to a lack of educators.
